Ulun Danu Batur Temple

Ulun Danu Batur Temple, is a temple dedicated to the prime source of water. It is settled in a spiritually pure area which is called Batur in Balinese language. Here ‘Pura’ means ‘temple’, ‘Ulun’ means ‘head source’, ‘Danu’ is for ‘water’ and ‘Batur’ is the name of the mount and the village which means ‘spiritually clean’. Located on the island of Bali in Indonesia, Ulun Danu Batur Temple is a marvelous example of Balinese style of architecture.

Dating back to the 17th century, the temple is facing the north of the islands. You can find a total of nine different temples in the compound dedicated to various significant Gods and Goddesses.As it is believed to be the reason for harmony on the island, it has gained a known position in the list of the most important temples in Bali .
