Ulun Danu Beratan

On the rim of a large crater, Bali Ulun Danu Beratan shrine is a shrine dedicated to the lake goddess Ida Batari Dewi Ulun Danu. The most significant shrines are Meru’s (pagodas) devoted to the lake goddess and the gods of Mount Batur and Mount Gunung Agung, Bali’s largest volcanoes. In the 17th century, the temple was built to worship the Hindu trinity of Brahma-Vishnu-Shiva as well as the lake goddess Dewi Danu.
